etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit Installation - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look, and installing the etrailer Base Plate on a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There's five main components required for flat towing any vehicle. And starting on the vehicle side, we have our base plate, and that's gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle, creating a structural mounting point, for not only your tow bar, but all of your other components. So connecting to that base plate, we have the tow bar, so this will go from that base plate to the hitch on the RV, and that's what tows the car down the road. And just like a trailer, you do have safety cables, just in case of a disconnect, it's gonna hold everything together. We also have diode wiring, which is gonna transmit the light signals from the RV to the taillights on the towed vehicle, giving you your running lights, your turn signals, and brake lights, and sometimes, your braking systems will need to tie into diode wiring, so that is a highly recommended item. more

There's gonna be a few other things that you may need to add independent on your vehicle. And some of those auxiliary things would be a stoplight switch, a charge line, a high low adapter on our case, a 12 volt outlet kit for the portable braking system, but the main basics that you're gonna want to focus on, first, are gonna be the base plate, which is gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle and create the structural mounting point for all of your components to go on and safely tow the vehicle down the road. But before we get into that, why don't we just take a minute, check this out, and make sure it's gonna be the right setup for ya. Whenever you're not flat-towing, this is what your Jeep's gonna look like. And I feel like it's important to address that because chances are pretty good, you're probably not always gonna be hooked up, right And, honestly, I don't really think it looks too bad at all. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster base plate on a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Now, this is gonna be available in two different configurations. You're gonna have your direct-connect style or you will have a cross brace style. Now, keep in mind, this is sold separately, so if you are planing on doing a crossbar, you are gonna have to pick this up, but we do have this available here at etrailer. Now, in flat towing a vehicle, there's gonna be five main components that are gonna be required to tow. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Blue OX Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms. Before we get into that though, why don't you just take a minute and check this out, and make sure it's gonna work for you So, before we jump right in, why don't we just touch base, and refresh ourselves on the five main parts that we're gonna need to flat tow our Jeep down the road in the first place. The first one will be the base plate. That's gonna provide us with a solid and reliable attachment point, and that way we can hook our towbar up to it. The towbar is gonna be the second part, and this is gonna be the physical link that actually connects in front of our Jeep to the back of our motor home. more

It's Brad here at E Trailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster base plate for flat towed vehicles on a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Now this is gonna be available in two different styles. You're gonna have your direct connect which is gonna go straight to your tow bar or you can also have a crossbar style. Now if you pick up that crossbar style you're also gonna need to pick up that crossbar. This is gonna be separate and that way you can attach it to your tow bar. Now this is what our base plate is gonna look like when installed. more

etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit Installation - 2019 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hi there, Jeep owners. Today on your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install etrailer's base plate. Here you can see our attachment points where we'll hook up our tow bar on each side and you can see that the base plate is gonna be completely hidden behind our fascia and it's just gonna poke out the holes where your tow hooks used to be if you had tow hooks. If not, they would poke out of the area that's just covered up where a to hook potentially could go. There is a bracket that's a universal bracket that you can choose wherever you want to install it on your vehicle for mounting up your electrical connector. And we decided to just put it right here in the middle for mounting up our electrical components, as well as our breakaway switch and braking system attachment. more

Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit Installation - 2022 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hi there Jeep owners. your 2022 Jeep Cherokee. We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's tabless base plate. And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. The base plate will replace your factory tow hooks on each side and will just slide right in there. Now you do need to take off the fascia to be able to reach all the mounting locations and things like that, but it actually makes it a fairly easy install compared to some other base plates since we're reusing a lot of the same locations for factory hardware. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today, on your 2020 Jeep Wrangler, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's crossbar-style base plate. There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle. The tow bar being one of those. In addition to your tow bar, you're also gonna need your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar. You'll also need your dialed wiring, which takes the lighting from your motorhome and sends it to the lights at the back of your vehicle. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today, on your 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue Ox's base plate. And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. Here, you can see, it does stick out just a little bit past the front bumper. This is not, I don't believe, what the factory one looks like. This could be certain options that you could have got, but it looks like the factory one may stick out just a hair more than this one. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at installing the Blue Ox Base Plate on a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Now, this is what it's gonna look like when it's installed. And to be completely honest, it's really clean looking. In fact, it takes away the factory red tow hooks here on this trailhawk, which is unfortunate but it's nice that it uses the same spot because you're not gonna have to cut any of the fascia in order for the base plate to go on. Now, some of your other components may require that but overall using those factory locations is really nice. more

Hi, there Jeep Owners. Today in your 2011 Jeep Patriot, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue Ox base plate. And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. We can see here that all the components fit through the grill opening right here, and everything's tucked back pretty nice. Thing that kind of sticks out is our breakaway switch here, but it really doesn't stick out too bad. I don't think it's something that would interfere too much with pulling in your garage or anything like that. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Fan of your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue Ox base plate. It does install below the bumper, so you will be able to see the cross beam and the, pretty much the entirety of the base plate, But the black powder coat finish on it and the robust look of it, just blends in pretty well with our Jeep. And it kind of just makes it look like an off-roading front end if you're just not familiar with a flat-tow setup. Our base blate is going to allow us to hook up our Jeep behind our motorhome and flat tow it with us. more
